Industry Overview
The retail industry in India is expanding, and by 2030, 2.5 crore employment are anticipated. In FY24–25, giants such as Titan, Trent, and Reliance Retail added 46,000 permanent staff, the majority of whom were in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. In March 2025, food and grocery stores recorded YoY growth of 11%.
Demanded competencies include merchandising, digital point-of-sale systems, sales management, and customer service. Job hotspots include Patna, Rajkot, Jaipur, Ludhiana, and Surat.
